![]() ![]() So much for "SPOILER ALERTS" in those days. That is true KeV! They really showed you a "capsulized" version of the whole movie in that trailer. I couldn't believe how much was shown back then. I take back all my criticisms of modern day trailers showing too much and giving away the whole film, cos my stars, that was a lot of the plot given away!! I probably haven't viewed that since the late 70s when I would have seen it at the Odeon in Liverpool.Ī favourite film of mine with a favourite score to boot. "THE WHOLE WORLD THINKS THEY'RE DEAD, AND THE ONLY WAY THE TRUTH CAN COME OUT, IS IF THEY LIVE LONG ENOUGH, TO TELL IT!" - Brilliant! He did so much great work doing Trailers and Voice Overs back in those days! He really made you want to see the movie. ![]() I believe the Trailer's "Announcer, Voice Over" is Paul Thomas Anderson's father, the Great Ernie Anderson. ![]() The CAP ONE trailer is just brilliant with Jerry's music! You gotta love in the CAP ONE Trailer at the end when Goldsmith's music is really cooking and fluttering (The BREAKOUT Cue from the score) with those awesome strings and the names of the Actors start flying towards us on the screen "SUPERMAN THE MOVIE" Style. The Original POLTERGEIST Trailer is quite wonderful too! They really knew how to do it back in those great old days! The person who posted the great CAPRICORN ONE Trailer has lot's of awesome vintage 35 mm Theatrical Trailers on his youtube channel. Movie trailers like that truly are a lost art! Peter Hyams' finest moment and one of the greatest action scores ever. Thanks for this! I even recorded the audio back then on a tape recorder, but having this now is so much better. I worked at a Movie Theater showing it on it's first run back in 1978 and remember when we showed this trailer. It's one of the Best Trailers I can remember seeing.
